Two questions:

Is there a way to have the menu open to a specific section when the page is loaded?!

Is there a way to control the speed of the sliding animation?

1, Yes you can. Navigate to the page http://www.menucool.com/vertical/accordion-menu, Click the JavaScript tag, and see the "Using the open or close function" section;
2. We have to customize the script to control the speed of the sliding animation.
