How to close the tooltip when a hyperlink within the tooltip is clicked

My implementation has your tooltip appearing on click of an icon. The tooltip has a hyperlink and on click on the hyperlink, a page gets loaded in a frame adjacent to the icon.
How can the tooltip dissolve/disappear on click on the hyperlink? Please help.

Try script a click event to the hyperlink within the tooltip:
<a href="..." onclick="tooltip.hide();">link text</a>
