No matter what you say, I don't believe a 10kb script can make it as good as jquery does. I've been a jquery user for years and I think jquery is more responsive and reliable.

The easing effect of your pure javascript slider is quite sleek though.

I am not with you dasser. I've compared the jQuery version of the slider with the pure JavaScript version of the slider, and found the pure javascript version is much smoother than the jQuery version in Chrome, IE10, and FireFox browsers. In other browsers they have exactly the same performance.
